Mountain Travel Symposium officials have selected Tourism Whistler to host their 2002 event next April.
The 2001 symposium took place in Park City, Utah, earlier this month, and Tourism Whistler and other resort representatives attended the conference.
"We are thrilled to have this tremendous opportunity to host 900 key travel industry representatives next spring," says Connie Rabold, Tourism Whistler’s director of communications and destination awareness for North America.
"Tourism Whistler pursued the event through an aggressive proposal, and will begin working on elements of the program immediately. This is an ideal opportunity to showcase Whistler to key tour operators, ski groups and industry partners."
The announcement comes after the successful SkiTops Network trade event wrapped up last month, bringing 250 ski industry representatives to Whistler.
The Mountain Travel Symposium is the largest event of its kind in North America.
