The Whistler Sabbatical Project, launched by Tourism Whistler in the fall to promote the resort through an online contest, has been short-listed for a Favorite Website Award.

The winners in each category are chosen by the public and the contest closes at noon on Friday, Jan. 20. If it garners enough votes, the website - wouldyoudoit.whistler.com - will be short-listed for a larger award.

Tourism Whistler came up with the campaign with Origin Design and Communications, asking people what they would do for an all-expense paid trip and salary to live in Whistler for one month.

The entry period for the Sabbatical Project closes on Jan. 31, and 10 randomly selected finalists will be drawn in the days leading up to Feb. 10. Each will have to write a 250 word essay describing what winning the Whistler Sabbatical Project would mean to them. The winner will be selected on Feb. 13.

The grand prize includes two round-trip tickets to Whistler for two, a limo ride from the airport, a month of accommodation at a furnished home, two one-month ski passes, two one-month bus passes, two pairs of K2 skis with poles, bindings, boots and travel bags, and one months' salary - up to $4,200. As well, the winner will receive all 18 "Explore Your Options" activities that are profiled in the "Would You Do It" part of the campaign.
