The Chateau Whistler Golf Club is hosting its second annual Fairmont Chateau Whistler Foundation Golf Tournament on May 24 to raise money for community groups and programs in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

The format of the tournament is a Gross Best Ball, beginning with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. and lunch at the clubhouse. The tournament is followed by an awards dinner on the Fairmont Chateau Whistler’s Woodlands Terrace.

The top four teams will win prizes, as will the top golfers at competitive events held at selected holes.

Money from last year’s tournament went to Whistler Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Whistler Food Bank, Whistler Community Services, the Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment, and WAG.

Corporate teams and individuals hoping to play in the tournament can register by calling The Chateau Whistler Golf Club at 1-877-2092. The cost is $125 per player, including lunch, dinner, green fees, golf carts and prizes.

The course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., will open to the public on May 10.
