This Sunday the Whistler Off Road Cycling Association is hosting its annual Spring Trail Sweep, clearing trails of any debris that piled up over the winter, and taking note of any erosion or damage that occurred last season or during the winter. Volunteers also rake out leaves, trim bushes and branches, and otherwise keep local bike trails clear.

With more than a hundred trees downed in and around the village after a windstorm in February, it could be a big job this year.

The day starts, as usual, with a pancake breakfast at Teppan Village at 9 a.m. Afterwards, the volunteers will be divided into groups and drive to different trail heads.

People who use the trails and want to participate are asked to bring any gardening tools they have, everything from shears to shovels, and leave their bikes at home.
