Travelers staging slideshow fundraiser

GLC event proceeds to M.S. Society, African aid organization

Globetrotters Jimi Martinello, Annie Vallee and Alain Denis are back with another slideshow/fundraising evening.

The intrepid travellers/avid climbers will present new photos set to music of South Africa, Namibia, the Himalayas and other spots from around the globe on Tuesday, June 28 at the Garibaldi Lift Co. (GLC).

Martinello and Denis have staged several other photo/fundraiser events in the past years, raising money for school building initiatives in Laos and Nepal and South Asian Tsunami relief.

Tuesday’s event is a fundraiser for the M.S. Society and a non-profit organization called Funanami, which works in the poverty-stricken South African townships.

Admission will be a minimum $5 donation. Doors open at 8 p.m. with the slideshows beginning at 9 p.m. The night also features dance tunes by DJ Sheila from Squamish and DJ Joe from Vancouver.
