Ucluelet invites visitors to celebrate Ukee Days

From July 23 to 25 residents of Ucluelet will be joined by approximately 1,500 visitors from around B.C. to celebrate its 30th annual Ukee Days festival.

The family-focused weekend begins with a salmon barbecue on Friday, July 23. On Saturday visitors will be treated to pancakes and a parade as well as Logger Sports, including the 2004 Open Single Buck Canadian Championship. The festivities conclude on Sunday with a music festival featuring local artists.

All proceeds raised from the festival, whose theme this year is "Seeds of our past, planting foundations for our future" will go toward the building of a proposed Ucluelet community centre.

For more information on Ukee Days and other events, visit www.dist.ucluelet.bc.ca or call Abby Fortune at 250-726-7742.
