Half of a $2,800 donation to the Community Foundation of Whistler's Youth Fund will be administered by local high school students interested in philanthropy.

The Whistler Valley Trail Run Society donated the money to the CFOW's Youth Fund. The CFOW has received $13,700 from the annual Whistler Valley Trail Run since 2006.

Half of this year's donation will go to the Whistler Youth Endowment Fund and half to the high school students through the Whistler Youth Foundation's grants program. The grants program is administered by the students and provides support for local charitable groups involved in youth projects.

Two grants of $885 each were made this year. The first was to the Whistler Arts Council for its Whistler Children's Festival. The second was to the Whistler Nordics for their youth dryland training program.
