Volunteers get close to the TWSSF action

Snow fest needs volunteers

Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival organizers are looking for fun-loving, hard-charging, rock-solid folk who are keen to volunteer for Whistler’s biggest cultural and action sports party, the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival April 13 to 22 in Whistler Village.

“Volunteering is an awesome opportunity to be a part of the action,” said Sue Eckersley, festival director. “Almost all of our staff started out as volunteers with the festival.”

Festival supporters are invited to learn more about the positions available, scheduling, and who is involved at a volunteer recruitment night on Friday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Merlin’s.

Some of the positions include alpine operations crew, VIP/Media hosts, event photographers, film/photo/fashion production helpers, the Big Air Bear publicity team, marketing representatives and dog wranglers for the Whistler Dog Fest.

There are also limited paid positions available at the festival. People interested in applying should bring resumes to the event where interviews will also be conducted.

The Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival is the ultimate winter wrap up party hosting 10 days and nights of free concerts, nightlife parties, athlete competitions and art showcases.
