W-B job fair starts today

Whistler-Blackcomb is about to conduct its annual hiring blitz, during which approximately 2,500 people will be employed for positions with the mountains.

The general recruiting fair runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Dusty’s Bar and Grill in Creekside and finishes on November 4.

Potential applicants are requested to bring a resume, photo identification, a SIN number or proof of application, and, where applicable, a work visa.

For some positions applicants are required to have a clear criminal record and a permanent mailing address because background checks must be completed.

The local’s recruiting fair starts Oct. 22 and finishes on Oct. 24.

Whistler-Blackcomb considers a local to be somebody who has lived in the Sea to Sky corridor and is settled in the area with their accommodation already organized.

Whistler-Blackcomb offers a number of perks for employees including free ski/snowboard lessons, 50 per cent off food at WB locations, housing for first-year employees and a seasons pass.

Applicants can also apply on line at www.whistlerblackcomb.com/jobs

Once this online application is completed an identification number will be provided and the applicants should then call 604 938 7366 (extension 2) to pre-book their first interview.
