Shelter full with more than 40 animals
The 10th annual WAG Doggy Wash fund-raiser takes place on Sunday, Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the municipal fire hall parking lot, at the corner of Village Gate Boulevard and Blackcomb Way.
There will be an all day BBQ plus WAG Wear, Garlick Mountain Ceramics and animal themed rock paintings by Raine Playfair for sale.
All proceeds will help cover the costs of ongoing medical bills to care for the 40-plus animals that have come into WAG’s care over the last month.
WAG has been inundated with dogs, cats, kittens and puppies, and the WAG shelter is now completely full. Thanks to the dedicated staff at Coast Mountain Vet Services, all of animals have received excellent medical care. They have also helped with interim boarding while WAG finds homes for the animals at the shelter.
Additionally, a cat and dog have come into our care with broken limbs. WAG has covered the cost of those surgeries in addition to vaccinations, spaying and neutering for the other 40 animals.
Anyone who donates $10 or more will be issued a tax receipt.
