WAG to give dogs a soapy scrub

WAG is on the fundraising trail again with the annual doggie wash to take place this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Whistler Fire Hall.

WAG is on the fundraising trail again with the annual doggie wash to take place this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Whistler Fire Hall.

Dog owners can avoid having soap suds shaken all over them by having their filthy fidos washed by WAG volunteers.

The cost is a donation that will go towards the general running of the WAG shelter.

The dog washers will be the qualified judges of the stinkiest dog of the day award, which will be worth a prize.

Gone Bakery is donating some of its popular dog treats for sale on the day and there will be a bake table for the humans too.

Any keen bakers out there are welcome to donate baked goodies for the day and can drop them off at the WAG shelter before the event.

WAG merchandise, such as T-shirts and bucket hats, can be purchased at the doggie wash.

WAG recently held a K9 Wine and Dine fundraiser at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler and managed to raise over $7,000 to fund a new shelter.

"It was fantastically successful and everybody was asking us to do it again next year," said WAG board secretary Linda McGaw.
