Weather warning for Whistler, region

Snow expected to continue all week

The Environment Canada Weather Office has issued a snow warning for Whistler and the surrounding area on Monday, Nov. 21 with 25 to 30 cenimetres of snow through the day and into the evening.

If the freezing level drops, snow will continue through the week. On Tuesday, Whistler Blackcomb is predicting 30 to 50cm in the alpine.

The weather is credited to a strong Pacific frontal system, bringing heavy precipitation to the region.

Snowfall of 20 cm is expected throughout the Howe Sound area, and in the southern part of Sea to Sky the forecast is for heavy rains and freezing rain. High winds with gusts of 90km/h are forecast for the Sunshine Coast region.
