Member of Parliament John Weston is meeting with local governments in West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country this week to discuss current economic challenges and the implications of the federal Economic Action Plan.
The plan includes a $30 billion stimulus package for the next fiscal year, to be followed by another $23 billion in 2010. A large share of that money, over $6 billion, will go towards infrastructure projects to match $4.5 billion in provincial and municipal spending.
Weston will be meeting with Whistler council and staff on Friday at a closed door meeting to discuss ways that the community might benefit from programs within the stimulus package.
