Start spreading the news: you could make New York, New York revelry your very own at the first Talent Night in Whistler.

The program, a fund-raiser for the Rotary Club of Whistler Millennium, still has space for aspiring dancers, comedians, actors and musicians to strut their stuff and sing their hearts out.

"We have a great venue there, and we wanted to put it to good use," says Linda Marshall, co-organizer of Talent Night.

Eighteen performers, including a cellist, piano players, and a dance troupe have signed up to perform in three categories so far.

The stage is open to all ages, groups or individuals, who want to make their talent known, or simply enjoy performing.

"There’s room for more talent if anyone else is keen to perform!" says Marshall.

The idea for the show came from the club members, who feel loads of talent lies undiscovered behind closed cabin doors. Thus the show is a celebration of Sea to Sky talent.

The participation fee, which starts at $10 for students, contributes to the arts and culture programs in local schools.

The Whistler Talent night is also part of the weekend’s Whistler Children’s Art Festival, which takes place at Myrtle Philip school.
