Three Whistler teams and two teams from the University College of the Fraser Valley took part in a B.C. Volleyball Association (BCVA) tournament in Whistler on Saturday.
After winning every match in the round robin, the veteran Whistler Extreme beat the Whistler Whoosh in two close games. The Whoosh team is in its first year, and competed for the first time at a tournament in Vancouver the previous weekend.
The Extreme went on to face Unamus in the finals, another Whistler team that was created for the tournament. They downed the top UCFV team in their semi-final match-up.
The Extreme went on to win the tournament with two more solid games.
This was the first BCVA sponsored indoor tournament in Whistler. It was sponsored by Windermere Sea to Sky Realty, Whistler Whooshnet and Cable 6, as well as the Wild Wood Café, Starbucks, Canadian Snowmobiling Adventures, Whistler-Blackomb, the Riverside Café, and the Whistler Ski and Snowboard Festival.
