Whistler flu shot clinics

In preparation for the winter cold season there will be upcoming flu and pneumococcal vaccine clinics in Whistler and Pemberton.

In preparation for the winter cold season there will be upcoming flu and pneumococcal vaccine clinics in Whistler and Pemberton.

The flu vaccine is free for all people 65 years of age and over and people with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, cancer and immune disorders as well as children and teenagers being treated with ASA or aspirin for long periods of time.

High risk groups such as firefighters, police, ambulance and ski patrollers as well as caregivers also qualify.

The pneumococcal vaccine is free for all people 65 years of age and over as well as people with chronic illnesses like Hepatitis B and C.

The Pemberton clinics will run on Mon. Oct. 21 from 2-4 p.m. at Lion’s Villa for seniors only and on Tues. Oct. 22 from 12-1 p.m. at the Pemberton Health Unit.

The Whistler clinics will run on Wed. Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wed. Nov. 6 from 12-1 p.m. and Wed. Nov. 13 from 12-1 p.m. All times are crop in at the Coast Garibaldi Health.
