Whistler Forum hosts “Weaving our Futures”

First Nations and women in leadership are the two main topics of a special Whistler Forum for Dialogue reception on Friday, Jan. 16 called “Weaving Our Future: A Celebration of Collaborative Leadership.”

The evening gets underway at 6 p.m. with a dinner reception at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre catered by the Four Seasons, followed by readings, music, dialogue and more. Topics include “Learning and Leading with First Nations,” and “Women in Leadership: Wisdom for the Balancing Act.” Guest speakers include Dr. Jo-Ann Archibald, the associate dean of Indigenous Education at UBC; Marlane Christensen, president of the Industry Council for Aboriginal Business; Kim Brooks, department head of Squamish Nation Health Services; and leaders from the Minerva Foundation’s Combining Our Strengths program.
