Whistler Forum joins with IGLOO

Online knowledge network seeks to address global issues

The Whistler Forum for Dialogue is preparing to extend its reach and ratchet up community involvement through its new involvement with IGLOO, or the International Governance Leaders and Organizations Online website.

The website includes a library of government and non-governmental documents on a variety of issues, a series of web logs devoted to those issues, and the ability to create online communities where groups “can communicate, collaborate and coordinate in a centralized place.”

“At the Whistler Forum we foster the culture of dialogue and deepen the experiences of collaborative governance as we convene local citizens and emerging leaders from around the world,” said Williams Roberts, founder and president of the Whistler Forum. “We look forward to adding our growing online community to the voices and choices of those with hope for a more sustainable world.”

The Whistler Forum was created in 2003, and has since hosted 45 Dialogue Café discussions, three cohorts of Leadership Sea to Sky, a North American and an Asia Pacific Summit on collaborative governance and numerous seminars and events.

Through IGLOO, the Whistler Forum is now connected to dozens of NGOs, including groups like the Aspen Institute, the Delibertative Democracy Consortium, the Tamarack Institute, and National Centre for First Nations Governance.
