Whistler Holiday Experience opens Friday

Back for a second year, the Resort Municipality of Whistler and Tourism Whistler are hosting an indoor family entertainment fair through the holidays.

The Telus Whistler Conference Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily from Dec. 19 to Jan. 4 with free mini golf, bouncy castles, movies for children, video games, foosball, air hockey, crafts, and other activities.

This event is open to residents and guests, and provides a place for families to go to get out of the weather or spend some time together after a day on the hill. The event exceeded all expectations last year with hundreds of visitors a day, prompting organizers to expand the activities offered, like movies and video games, to appeal to older kids. This year it’s being billed as entertainment for infants to 14 years olds, although there’s no limit.

There will be a special appearance by Santa Claus on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. for the official opening.
