Whistler will play host this weekend to the annual general
meeting of the British Columbia Chambers of Commerce, a yearly gathering that
brings together some of the province’s top leaders in business to develop
policy and make recommendations to governments, as well as provide networking
opportunities.
This year’s meeting will bring speakers such as John Furlong,
VANOC’s Chief Executive Officer, Diane Ablonczy, Canada’s secretary of state for
small business and tourism, and John Peller, chair of the Canadian Chamber of
Commerce.
The meeting will take place from May 22 to May 24 at the
Fairmont Chateau Whistler and will include policy sessions and presentations
throughout each day.
Participants are asked to be aware of highway closures that will take place on weekdays between midnight and 2 a.m., and again between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. There are no scheduled closures on the weekend.
