Whistler is streamlining its business license system by joining the growing number of communities that have partnered with the provincial OneStop Business Registry.
“OneStop makes it easier and faster for Whistler’s entrepreneurs to register a new business, apply for a business license, set up a sales tax account and more,” said West Vancouver-Garibaldi MLA Joan McIntyre. “This is a great example of community organizations and governments working together to deliver better services.”
Whistler is the 75 th municipality in B.C. to sign on with the program, which offers:
• A business registration service that includes federal and provincial public sector agencies and local governments.
• A universal business address change service.
• A business number service.
• A name approval service, that combines business names searches and approval processes.
In the past, businesses would have to file paperwork with
several government bodies, including the Canada Revenue Agency, B.C. Registry
Services, Customer Service and Information Branch, WorkSafe B.C., and local
governments, which required visits to three or four different offices and
websites, and filling out three separate forms. OneStop provides all those
services online at www.bcbusinessregistry.ca
