Whistler Minor Hockey fund-raiser in memory of Tony Tyler

The Tapley?s Pub old-timers hockey club is holding a golf tournament and fund-raising social on Friday, Oct. 5, in memory of Tony Tyler.

Tony was a long-time, community minded Whistlerite who worked hard for Whistler Minor Hockey until a sudden heart attack took his life three weeks ago. His family asked that friends not send flower or gifts but to donate to Whistler Minor Hockey.

The Tapley?s hockey club is taking things a step further and after the golf tournament, at approximately 7 p.m., the club is holding a fund-raising event at Tapley?s Pub.

The details: $10 from each golfer registration, and $5 per mulligan purchased by golfers, will go to minor hockey in Tony Tyler?s name. Tapley?s will make a donation for each dinner sold on Friday night. A 50-50 draw will also be held at Tapley?s, and there will be raffle tickets for prizes, including a Whistler-Blackcomb dual mountain season pass.
