The Whistler RCMP is asking the public for any information on a hit-and-run to a parked vehicle in Alpine last week, according to a release.

At about 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, officers responded to a report of a collision in the 8000 block of Rainbow Drive. Investigators said the complainant was awakened by the sound of a loud crash about 45 minutes earlier, only to look outside and see a dark-coloured SUV backing out the driveway before heading south.

The collision caused "significant damage" to the victim's vehicle and front-end damage to the suspect's SUV, police said.

Whistler RCMP is asking anyone with further information on this file to contact the detachment at 604-932-3044, or Sea to Sky Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477 to remain anonymous.
