There are many opportunities to fly the rainbow flag at the 2016 Whistler Pride and Ski Festival, which takes place around the resort until Sunday.
Thursday, Jan. 28 events include Pride Movie Screening at the Maury Young Arts Centre and the Splash Pool Party at the Meadow Park Sports Centre.
Friday, Jan. 29 events include Purrlesque at The Cabn at Aava Whistler and Furrocious at the Whistler Conference Centre.

Banff Mountain Film Festival
Showing The Best of Banff World Tour will hold screenings in Whistler and Squamish in February.
Adventures from Patagonia to Alaska are showcased at the screenings, which tend to sell out early. Tickets are $20.It takes place at the Maury Young Arts Centre in Whistler on Friday, Feb. 12 and Saturday, Feb. 13. Registration is available now for the Whistler Arts Council's (WAC) new lineup of art and design classes for winter and spring 2016 at the Maury Young Arts Centre.
Michelle Yamamoto returns with her popular Design Your Own Skateboard workshop class for youth and now for adults, too.
Yamamoto is also running an Intuitive Art Journalling workshop for adults.
"Intuitive Art Journalling is a valuable artistic healing process that helps to empower you by envisioning your goals," explains Yamamoto. "You can connect to the essence of who you really are by building layers with paints, stamps, stencils, papers and inks while exploring the layers of our human life experiences."
Yamamoto is also holding a Brave Heart Journalling workshop for youth, where simple exercises in meditation are introduced alongside expressive multi-media art projects.
There are also Spanish classes, including beginner classes for adults, and new Spanish classes for kids and youth. There will also be Salsa and Bachata introductory dance classes and new Argentine Tango classes.
Chicks with Picks for beginner and intermediate levels, along with Art Adventures and Fine Art Samplers, are also returning.
"We're excited about the extensive lineup of classes we have starting in January, and running into June," says Shelagh Thiessen, Community Arts Programmer for WAC.
