A woman attended the Whistler RMCP detachment on Saturday, Dec. 13 to report a sexual assault that allegedly occurred last month.

The complainant said that on Nov. 26 she went to a village nightclub where she met a male, whom she could only identify by first name. Later in the night she claims she went to the man's apartment and engaged in consensual sex before noticing another male was present. She said the second man "used physical strength and forced himself on her," Staff Sgt. Steve LeClair said.

"She advised she was very intoxicated at the time and doesn't remember precise details," he added.

The investigation is ongoing.

Break-in causes over $25K in estimated damage at Pemberton industrial park

Several businesses at an Old Mill Road industrial park in Pemberton were broken into on Monday, Dec. 15, causing over $25,000 in damage, police said.

"Multiple unit businesses had been broken into and holes were burrowed through the walls into other units in the same structure," LeClair said.

Police attended the scene and noted an array of damage, including two doors that had been broken open, a destroyed telephone system, which had effectively disabled the alarm and a severely damaged safe, from which $2,000 was missing.

The investigation continues.

Pemberton teen found in possession of four firearms

A Pemberton teen learned a lesson he will likely not soon forget: If you own illegal firearms, don't post pictures of them on Facebook.

That's where RCMP found evidence last week that the 16-year-old was in possession of prohibited firearms after receiving a tip from the public. The male's profile was littered with photos of "multiple rifles" and a sawed-off shotgun, said Staff Sgt. Steve LeClair.

Police attended the residence and seized all four firearms belonging to the male, and have applied for a forfeiture of the prohibited guns, with additional charges possibly to come.

Police nab driver of stolen vehicle

While on patrol in Alpine Meadows on Friday, Dec. 12, police noticed a parked vehicle with stolen license plates.

Once the driver and passenger re-entered the car and left the lot, police tracked and eventually stopped the vehicle on Highway 99 south of the Meadow Park Sports Centre.

A 34-year-old Pemberton man was taken into custody for being in possession of stolen property, while the passenger was released.

Man reports break-in, possible squatter

A Pemberton man believes a squatter broke into his house and lived there while he was working out of province.

On Wednesday, Dec. 10 the complainant told Pemberton RCMP that his Poplar Street house was broken into, with items appearing to have been moved around but not taken, although he did report an antique sewing machine was missing.

The investigation continues.

Construction tools reportedly stolen from shipping container

A shipping container on Kadenwood Drive was reportedly accessed this weekend, with thousands of dollars of construction tools taken.

The complainant reported the incident on Tuesday, Dec. 16 and believes the alleged theft took place sometime between Friday and Monday morning.

Police said a lock on the container appeared to have been pried open. Tools and a laptop all valued at approximately $3,000 were reported stolen.
