This year’s Christmas concert by local adult choir the Whistler Singers marks 20 years of performing in the community.

The now 45-member choir reached a major milestone with the release of their first CD, titled Ascend , this past April, and while their voices are a fixture at countless community celebrations, the Singers’ Christmas performances have a special place in the hearts of local music lovers.

This year’s concert truly has something for everyone. The Singers have chosen a varied selection of ethnic holiday arrangements along with classical arrangements and olde English pieces. There will also be some contemporary Christmas favourites – a certain Mr. Crosby’s ode to snow for one – and there will also be a carol sing-a-long with the audience.

The performance will also feature the Pembertunes, a 35-voice children’s chorus from Pemberton.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 students and seniors. Call 604-935-8410 for more information.

On the Sunday and Monday evenings, Dec. 21 and 22, the Whistler Singers take to the Village Stroll for their annual traditional Christmas caroling.

They will also be participating in the Christmas Eve Carol Service alongside the Whistler Children’s Chorus at the Telus Conference Centre at Whistler on Dec. 24. The service begins at 6:30 p.m.
