Two Whistler Mountain Ski Club athletes were selected this year to take part in B.C. Alpine’s new Best with the Best program, and will spend the next few months working with national level coaches, and participating in programs designed by Alpine Canada Alpin.

"Our intention with this program is to increase our fitness levels and maximize our time on snow in the preparation period," said Gordie Bowles, the B.C. Alpine program director.

"We have taken a big step forward with this program not only identifying and supporting our provincial talent but also supporting our member ski clubs with an enhancement of their excellence programs."

A total of 15 athletes were selected from around the province to take part in the 42-day program, which runs from May to November. Whistler racers Darren Chaddock and Conrad Pridy have been invited.

The program includes on-snow training at the Farnham Glacier in the East Kootenays and Blackcomb’s Horstman Glacier. In addition there will be two fitness camps as well as a dryland training program designed by Alpine Canada Alpin staff.
