It's time for Whistler residents to speak out about what they like and don't like about the community and its services.
Starting Sept.16 market researchers, the Mustel Group, will conduct 500 random phone interviews of 300 full-time residents and 200 second-home owners as part of the seventh Community Life Survey.
"It's an important opportunity for residents and second homeowners to let us know how we're doing and how we can continue to improve our municipal operations," said Whistler Mayor Nancy Wilhelm-Morden in a release.
"Community engagement was one of the priorities identified in our 2012-2014 Council Action Plan, and I think we have made significant improvement in this area during our council term.
"Please participate in the survey, if you are contacted by phone, or take the time to complete the survey online later this month."
The survey, which takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, supports transparency and accountability in municipal operations, helps inform municipal decision making, and facilitates the measurement of trends over time. It looks at municipal operations and services, and general aspects of community life in Whistler.
Results from the 2013 survey, coordinated by the Whistler Centre for Sustainability, will help to measure performance towards the priorities identified in Whistler2020 Community Comprehensive Sustainability Plan, and track service performance for the RMOW's Corporate Plan. In addition, survey results will help council and staff understand community priorities and concerns, and preferences for budget expenditures, communication and municipal services.
Top line survey results will be presented to Whistler council later this year. A web version of the survey will also be available for residents at the end of September.
