With summer ending and winter fast-approaching, Whistler is getting a timely pat on the back from various publications.
The August issue of Health magazine lists Whistler as one of the "best winter hot spots to visit this summer," placing third behind Jackson Hole Wyoming and Mount Snow Vermont.
Whistler once again placed highly in the annual SKI magazine reader survey of resort destinations, finishing second to Vail, Colorado. The full results are in the October issue of SKI.
Meetings West readers named Whistler’s Westin Resort and Spa in their 2003 "Best of the West Awards" and was only one of two Canadian destinations selected.
Travel and Leisure Golf’s annual reader survey gave kudos to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler in several categories for Canada. It tied for Best Resort Course and Best Resort for Family Trips with the Fairmont Banff Springs, and was second in Best Golf Resort, Most Underrated Golf Resort and Best Resort for Buddy Trips. It was also second in Best Resort for Course Conditions, Golf-Staff Attitude and Pace of Play, and in the Best Resort for Service, Food, Rooms and Other Non-Golf Facilities.
Whistler will also be featured in the upcoming issues of Qantas in-flight magazine, and the U.K.’s Holiday and Leisure World magazine.
