Xavier Rudd is no stranger to Whistler, with countless performances on the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival mainstage to crowds of thousands.
Well the socially conscious, heartfelt songs of the Canadian-Australian surf/roots, multi-instrumentalist return with what will probably be another sell-out show on Monday, Dec. 4 at the Telus Conference Centre.
Rudd’s compassion extends into lyrics rooted in Australia’s
indigenous people, spirituality, the environment and a passionate celebration
of life. The one-man show fills out to band proportions with the award-winning
Universal recording artist drawing on everything from guitars, shakers and
didgeridoos to slide guitars, tongue drums, stomp boxes and slide banjo —
sometimes playing up to three instruments at one time.
Expect new music from his latest award-winning album,
Food
in the Belly!
The New York Times raved: “...Xavier Rudd plays jazzy,
syncopated guitar as he broods, something like Dave Matthews with an occasional
toot of a didgeridoo.”
His last Canadian and U.S. tours sold out, so pick up tickets early by calling Ticketmaster at 604-280-4444.
