The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation has begun selling tickets to the 16 th Annual TELUS Winter Classic, set to take place Jan. 25 and 26.

The weekend-long classic features activities both on and off the mountain, starting with a ski with a pro adventure day, après, and wine and cheese event on Friday, followed by a breakfast and race on Saturday, and a gala that evening.

The Whistler Winetastic evening, sponsored by the Westin Resort & Spa, Whistler, and Arla Foods, will provide almost 700 ticket holders with hot and cold appetizers and a selection of over 150 wines. Tickets to this event are $55.

The grand finale of the weekend is the evening “Elements of British Columbia” Gala, to be held at the Roundhouse Lodge Jan. 26, with a catered buffet, performance artists, dancers, and drummers. There will also be a silent and live auction, which will include a painting by artist Rod Charlesworth. Tickets to the Gala are $150 each.

Last year, through the purchase of tickets for the evening events and registration fees for the race, the Winter Classic raised over $190,000 for Sea to Sky charities.

The WB Foundation provides financial support to local non-profit organizations whose activities provide benefits to residents of the Sea to Sky corridor in the areas of health, human services, education, recreation, arts and culture and the environment, with an emphasis on children, youth and family programs.

Since 1992, the WB Foundation has donated more than $4.2 million to Sea to Sky charities.
