The Whistler Off Road Cycling Associaton (WORCA), in partnership with the Whistler Real Estate Company, is getting the fat tire freeride season off to an early start with an April 21 Freeride Clinic, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Freeride pioneer and Canadian downhiller Elladee Brown will coach the session, possibly with the help of other pro riders to be named later.

"WORCA has always been looked at as the organizer of Loonie races and a cross-country club, and we’re trying to diversify, and get a wider range of people interested in the club," says Kristine Ongman, WORCA’s freeride director.

The cost of the clinic is $15, and spots are open to WORCA members only – you can download a membership form from the Web site at www.worca.com . The event is for men and women who ride at the intermediate to advanced level.

Proceeds from the day will go towards building a new trials park and trail maintenance projects in the valley.

To register for the clinic, contact Ongman at 905-2832 or kris@wrec.com. The location will be announced when the organizers have a better idea of what trails are clear of snow.
