Scribblers of all kinds are invited to ignite that creative spark and pen a mini story, love letter, rant, apology, promise or sexcapade to enter The Postcard Jam that takes place Monday, Feb. 19 at Three Below as part of the Whistler Writers’ Group’s Literary Leanings three-day event.

The writers’ group, a.k.a. The Vicious Circle, is hosting a number of readings and guest speakers over the three days as part of Celebration 2010, with The Postcard Jam sweetening the literary deal with $250 in cash prizes to the winners of the Critics’ Choice Award and the Audience Choice Award.

A postcard story must be an original, unpublished work of 300 words or less. Multiple entries are permitted. Send story, a short bio, phone number and e-mail address to postcard@viciouscircle.ca to enter. There is no entry fee.

The contest application process closes midnight Wednesday, Feb. 7. Approximately 15 to 20 finalists will be chosen and notified by Monday, Feb. 12.

Following the Postcard readings, the hilarious and enchanting Ivan E. Coyote will entertain crowds with her witty tales spawned from the transition of living in the Yukon to moving to the big city.
