It will all come down to what AFP skiers do in Whistler.

The Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP) World Tour finals are coming to town as part of the World Ski and Snowboard Festival in April. The superpipe, slopestyle, and big air events will all decide their champions here, as the festival will be the final stop of the campaign. Athletes were officially going to find out at the AFP Dew Tour stop in Breckenridge, Colo. on Dec. 10, though the AFP website had the event listed in its calendar on Dec. 9.

Watermark Communications president Sue Eckersley, the event organizer, said there will be men's and women's events in all three divisions, but because women's big air isn't part of the roster, that event will be invitational as opposed to points-based.

Whistler has hosted the AFP World Championships since 2011, but this will be the first time superpipe events will be held here.

"That's great because it makes it so it's all the AFP categories," she said.

Competition will take place from Apr. 9 to 12.
