Starting March 24, students from Xit’olacw School in Mount Currie will be coming to Whistler in a program designed to help them acquire hands on working skills. The students have been working on skills such as goal setting, office skills, telephone and business etiquette, presentation skills and understanding how business works. And the students are now ready to experience the workplace through a placement in a job category of their dream. Working with the Mount Currie Indian Band, in a program called Learn to Earn, Ann Ward of Ann Ward & Associates Consultants will be placing students in the work force for a week, with the help of participating Whistler businesses.
