What: Turn of the Century Millennium Gala Where: Whistler Conference Centre Includes: Five-course meal, entertainment by Flamenco guitar player Jesse Cook, champagne. Cost: $350. What: Galaxy 2000 Gala Where: The Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain Includes: Galaxy feast, swing dancing, live music, fireworks at midnight. Cost: $350 for adults, $50 for children. What: Futuristic Pow Wow Where: Tommy Africa’s Includes: Flame-lit Indian Village; Formal dance party featuring costumes of feathers, beads and fur; Professional dancers and spontaneous performance throughout the night. Cost: $99 What: Zeroes Where: Maxx Fish Includes: Three DJs, party treats, straight ahead for everybody. Cost: $275 What: Once in a Millennium Where: Dubh Linn Gate Pub Includes: Two bands in different sections; Four-piece Irish band in the pub and seven-piece swing band in the hotel lobby; Happy hour at 7:30 with complimentary drinks; 28 hot and cold food choices served buffet-style; champagne from 11 p.m. until midnight. Cost: $500 What: Torch-light parade viewing Where: Black’s Pub Includes: Party favours, champagne, no cover charge before 9 p.m. New Year’s celebration begins at 9 p.m. Cost: $49.50 Restaurants Where: The Crab Shack Sports & Oyster Bar What: Two seatings; first seating 6 p.m.-8 p.m., five-course meal, $200. Second seating; 8:30 p.m.- dawn, includes champagne and access to bar; One seating in bar at 8:30 p.m., 7:30- dawn, five course meal plus live entertainment from solo acoustic guitar player and singer Wil Mimnaugh for $250. Where: Araxi Ristorante & Bar What: A choice of a six or seven course meal prepared by chef James Walt at one seating which begins at 8:30 p.m. Guests can arrive at 7:30 p.m. The evening includes live entertainment from The Leslie Alexander Band. Each dinner guest receive a complimentary CD. Cost: $695 for package one; $475 for package two. Where: Bear Foot Bistro What: Bear Foot Bistro’s Titanic Millennium Dinner includes a re-creation of the Titanic’s maiden and only voyage, in turn-of-the-century style. This black-tie or costume event includes an eight-course menu featuring Russian caviar, seafood and wild game. Guests will be served and greeted by staff dressed in Titanic-fashioned costumes which will simulate the Titanic and its opulent atmosphere. Chamber music through dinner and live music afterward. A silent auction and a farewell gift is included in the evening’s activities. Cost: $2,000 per person (partial proceed to benefit the Prostate & Breast Cancer Foundations). Second seating at 8:30 p.m. is a six-course dinner and costs $375. Entertainment will be provided by The Corey D. band for dancing after the second seating. Where: Sushi Village What: Two seatings; First seating at 5 p.m. costs $160, $30 per child. Second seating is at 8:30 p.m., and costs $190. Both dinners are prepared by chef Toshi-san and include a six-course meal of Alaskan King Crab legs, Caribbean lobster and a variety of sushi. Where: Teppan Village What: Three seatings; First seating at 5 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. and cost $100; Second seating at 7 p.m. or 7:30 p.m., and costs $175; third seating is at 9 p.m. or 9:30 p.m. and cost $175. A choice of four dinners will be offered. Second and third seatings include a glass of Brut Imperial Moet & Chandon Champagne, a rose for the ladies and party favours for each couple. Where: Fogata What: One Seating at 6:30 p.m. A three-piece jazz band provide the entertainment all evening and an eight-course meal with a complimentary glass of champagne comprises the meal. Restaurant will be redecorated for this night and open late for dancing. Cost: $450 Where: Quattro What: Two seatings; First seating at 5:30 p.m. for a limited menu a la carte. Second Seating at 8:30 p.m. for the champagne reception, five-course dinner. Commemorative champagne flutes. DJ driven music afterward. Cost: $350 Where: The Keg What: Slightly trimmed down regular menu. Regular prices in effect. Where: Uli’s Flipside Grill What: Four to six course meal, four seatings; 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. which cost $150. And 8:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m. which cost $190. Where: La Bocca What: One seating for this nine-course dinner. One bottle of complimentary champagne per couple for this 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve dinner. Cost: $500 Where: Tandori Grill What: One seating at 9:30 p.m. for this six course, traditional Indian style dinner. Includes party favours and champagne. Cost: $350 Recreational Retreats Who: Canadian Snowmobile Adventures What: A New Year’s Eve at the Crystal Hut on Blackcomb Mountain. Take a snowmobile from the village to Crystal Ridge in the evening and watch the fireworks from near the top of the hill after a fondue dinner. Live entertainment, reservations a must. Doubles and singles available. Cost: $500 What: Come back to the Past Where: Cougar Mountain Snowmobile Cruises. Three hour wilderness snowmobiles ride beginning with a barbecue at the lodge followed by a deep snow tour into the Cougar Mountain backcountry. Afterward, warm up at the lodge with appetizers, soft drinks beer and champagne. Ticket price includes transportation to and from Cougar Mountain, dinner and drinks. Departure time from Whistler Village is 6 p.m. Minimum age of riders is 13 years old. Cost: $600 per couple, $400 for single.
