If you haven’t got your Game 6 Cougar tickets yet, there’s still a chance.
People began to line up today at 8 a.m. at the CN Centre box office to try get their hands on the few remaining tickets that were set aside for the Portland Winterhawks and their families and friends.
The Tickets North office at the rink and the website were set to open at noon today.
Down 3-2 in the best-of-seven WHL Western Conference final series, it’s a must-win situation for the Cougars. A win tonight over the ‘Hawks will force Game 7 on Tuesday at CN Centre.
The Cougars beat the ‘Hawks 6-1 in Game 5 in Portland on Thursday.
The winner will advance to the WHL championship series against either the Saskatoon Blades or Moose Jaw Warriors. The Warriors pushed that Eastern Conference final series to the limit with their 4-3 overtime win over the Blades Sunday afternoon in Moose Jaw.
Lynden Lakovic scored 2:57 into OT to end that one.
Game 7 will be played Tuesday in Saskatoon.
Four of the six games in that Eastern series have required overtime.
