In his first Ultimate Fighting Championship bout, Squamish's Cole 'Cole Train' Smith came out on top.

In the bantamweight match against Mitch Gagnon at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa on Saturday, Smith won with a unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27).

"It is nice to show everybody I am here, man. I am game," he said in a post-fight interview posted by MMA Junkie on YouTube.

Prior to making the UFC, the 30-year-old's professional record was 6-0.

Smith trains locally at The Sound martial arts gym.
