Stranger stabs man from behind while boarding a bus in Abbotsford

Major crime detectives are appealing to the public to help identify the suspect.

Police in Abbotsford are looking for an alleged suspect after a stabbing on June 24, 2025.

A stranger allegedly approached a man from behind as he was boarding a bus and stabbed him in Abbotsford this week. 

The incident occurred at 6:14 p.m. on June 24 in the 32700-block of South Fraser Way. 

Abbotsford Police Department officers responded to the stabbing and found a 20-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect had fled on foot.

Police believe the two were not known to each other.

Major crime detectives have taken over the case. 

Sgt. Paul Walker said no arrests have been made and the suspect has not yet been identified. 

The suspect is being described as a man in his 40s, roughly six-foot-tall, with a slender build and dishevelled brown hair. 

At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a black Nike T-shirt with the words ‘Just Do It’ in white letters and had on black pants and black shoes. 

Police are looking to speak to witnesses and for dash camera footage between 6 and 7 p.m. in the 32700-block of South Fraser Way.
