Surrey RCMP are investigating a shooting that occurred on Friday evening in Newton, B.C.

Surrey RCMP are investigating a Friday evening shooting in the Newton area of the Lower Mainland city.

On Feb. 11 at approximately 8:20 p.m., police responded to a report of shots fired in the 13400-block of 60A Avenue.

Cpl. Vanessa Munn said upon police attendance, evidence consistent with a shooting was located. Subsequently, a vehicle believed to be the target of the shooting was located in 13500-block of 62B Avenue, with no driver inside.

“Initial indications are that the targeted vehicle was being driven while being shot at by a second vehicle, a light coloured SUV which fled the area,” Munn said. “No injuries have been reported, however police are looking to confirm the well-being of the driver, and any occupants who may have been in the vehicle.”
