SURREY, B.C. — RCMP say a third suspect has surrendered to police after a youth was assaulted with a weapon Monday in an attack outside a school in Surrey, B.C.

Two other youths were taken into custody shortly after the assault outside Panorama Ridge Secondary School.

Police say the third suspect surrendered later on Monday and all three youths remained in custody overnight.

The suspects were scheduled to appear in court Tuesday and investigators say none of them are known to police.

The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition Monday and police have not released further details about what led to the assault.

A statement issued Tuesday by RCMP says the attack is believed to be related to an ongoing dispute among the teens and is not linked to gang activity, and there's no indication of any continuing risk to safety at the school.
