REGINA — Saskatchewan is reporting 190 new cases of COVID-19.

It's another single-day record for the province in which new daily infections began surpassing the triple digit mark last week.

Health officials say many of the new cases are in Regina and Saskatoon.

The province says a person in their 80s has also died, bringing the death toll since the start of the pandemic to 29.

Officials report there are more than 1,000 active cases of COVID-19 and 37 people are in hospital.

Premier Scott Moe says he will meet with his health minister and the province's chief medical health officer to discuss the situation, but added there are no further restrictions being considered to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The province has made masks mandatory in public indoor spaces in Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert and reduced household gathering limits to a maximum of 10 people.

Restrictions on operating hours and serving alcohol have also been placed on nightclubs in Saskatoon.
