REGINA — Saskatchewan is reporting 40 new COVID-19 infections, with more than half linked to gatherings.
Public health officials say people getting together at someone's home or in public have been the source of a recent uptick in cases.
Saskatchewan has recorded 260 new cases of COVID-19 since last Friday.
As of today, no more than 15 people are allowed to gather at a private residence.
Dr. Saqib Shahab, chief medical health officer, dropped the limit from 30 in an effort to slow the spread of the virus.
Health officials report that so far 79 infections in different communities have been tied to a gospel worship church event held in Prince Albert.
The Ministry of Health says 250 people have been identified through a contract tracing investigation.
As of Friday, 299 of reported infections are believed to be active.
Of 2,270 total reported cases, 1,946 people have recovered.
Nine people are in hospital, with two receiving intensive care.
