HALIFAX — Nova Scotia health officials say a child has been admitted to hospital because of measles.
A news release from the province says the child is in stable condition at Halifax's IWK Health Centre.
The release says the hospital has taken precautions to prevent the spread of measles to patients and staff.
Officials are reporting 44 cases of measles in the province, a rise from 35 infections earlier this week.
All cases are in the northern health zone, which includes the Colchester-East Hants, Cumberland, and Pictou areas.
Officials reported the first case linked to the northern zone outbreak on July 7.
