A MyBaggage study of Canada's top locations to visit in 2022, based on TikTok views and TripAdvisor ratings, includes Niagara Falls and Stanley Park.

Canada is known for its rugged coastlines, picturesque towns, soaring mountain ranges, and glistening, glacier-fed lakes. But some of its breathtaking outdoor destinations appear more often on social media.

MyBaggage, a luggage delivery company, has released a study of Canada's top locations to visit in 2022. The study ranks the destinations based on the number of TikTok views, the average temperatures in spring, the cost of visiting them, and their TripAdvisor review scores. It used "WeatherSpark" to analyze the weather data for each location.

According to the study, searches for ‘Air Canada vacations’ have soared by 250 [per cent] this year. Now, many people are using TikTok to whet their appetite for popular travel spots in the Great White North.

Ontario's awe-inspiring natural wonder, Niagara Falls, claimed the top spot on the list. MyBaggage notes that the scenic travel destination saw a whopping 47.9 million views on TikTok and that spring affords the ideal time to visit to see "millions of brightly [coloured] flowers begin to bloom."

Lake Louise, located in the Rocky Mountains, came second on the list with 6 million TikTok views. While you can avoid more crowds in the spring than visiting in the summer, the report authors note that "the lake will still be frozen over."

A third Ontario travel destination, Bruce Peninsula, rounded out the top three with 5 million TikTok views and a 4.5/5 TripAdvisor rating.

"It’s a day out great for all age groups due to the beaches and hiking trails. As it's a national park, it costs $8.50 to get in but provides you with a full day of fun. The summer crowds aren’t there in May time but it starts to get warmer with highs of 16 degrees which makes it a suitable time to visit," explains MyBaggage.

Three  popular B.C. spots made the top 10, with Stanley Park ranking fifth, Lake Okanagan ranking ninth, and Butchart Gardens ranking tenth.
