Missoula Children’s Theatre, an international organization that tours communities, setting up week-long residencies while they produce a full-scale musical, is coming to Whistler this October.

The company will be casting their production of the Frog Prince on Monday, Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. in the Millar Room of Myrtle Philip Community School.

Usually updated versions of classic fairy tales, Missoula productions typically involve between 50 and 60 local children as cast members. The company comes fully equipped with costumes, makeup, scenery and props. Auditions for the Frog Prince are open to all children residents of Whistler, from Kindergarten to Grade 6. No advance preparation is necessary.

Some cast members will be required to stay for preliminary rehearsals directly following the auditions. Rehearsals will continue through the week with a performance slated for the following Saturday, Oct. 18.

Missoula’s appearance in Whistler is sponsored by the Whistler Arts Council with the support of Rainbow Retreats, the Resort Municipality of Whistler, the Province of B.C., Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, and the B.C. Arts Council. More information on the company is available at www.mctinc.org
