Who would have thought a play about a couple of rich self-obsessed women who drink too much, smoke too much and dress up in designer clothes all day would be such a hit with the healthy hub of Whistler?

Early ticket sales for Fat hint at a sell-out for the locally produced show, based on the British television comedy Absolutely Fabulous , by Jennifer Saunders. The premise of the play centres around two women who grew up in the sexual revolution of the ’60s and still seem to be there.

So who would appeal to this type of production? According to Fat’s principal performer, Michele Bush, who plays the main character Edina, it’s "the crazy women of Whistler, for sure!"

Bush said any woman who grew up a party girl, or even those who haven’t quite grown out of it, will appreciate the edginess of the script.

"Edina and her partner in crime, Patsy, do and say all the things most of us don’t like to talk about, or remember that we did," she said.

If the show sells out, chances are fans of the hit series won’t have to mope for too long, There is a strong chance the show will make another appearance in December.
