Himalayan visions Saturday

Has the commercialism of Christmas got you down? Perhaps a night immersing yourself in a less materialistic culture is what you need.

Has the commercialism of Christmas got you down? Perhaps a night immersing yourself in a less materialistic culture is what you need.

Award-winning Canadian photographer, Brian Harris, is bringing his inspiring multimedia show on Himalayan and Buddhist lifestyles to Whistler this Saturday, Jan. 11. The audience will be taken on a journey into the heart of a world full of compassion, humanity and service.

The 90 minute presentation hosted by Harris, will include his photos, authentic music, environmental sounds, sacred music and prayer, plus recorded narration from exiled Buddhist leaders.

Harris’ mission is to raise awareness for this way of life before it disappears and to promote the work of Seva, blindness prevention warriors in the developing world. Forty-five million people on earth are blind and 90 per cent of them live in poverty. Eighty per cent of this blindness is correctable.

Show starts at 7:30 p.m. $15 at MY Place. See Ticketmaster or the box office on the night.
