Who: Blue Quarter with Slow Nerve Action

Where: Boot Pub

When: Monday, March 15

Bands become friends just like people become friends.

Their sounds complement each other, their personalities gel, and when they get to play on the same night it’s usually one of those shows where the energy in the room just keeps getting better.

This Monday night at the Boot Pub buddy bands Blue Quarter and Slow Nerve Action will show off their creative compatibility.

Canmore-based instrumental groove trio Blue Quarter has made several trips out this way, both on their own and as the openers for popular organic house music innovators The New Deal back in early 2003.

Closer to home, the funk rockers of Slow Nerve Action have blasted back from an extended hiatus in 2003 with a recent string of high-energy shows.

The bands met at a festival in Ontario in 2002 and according to Blue Quarter drummer Bitou "totally hit it off."

Musically, it’s easy to see why. The tripped-out organic drum ’n’ bass psychedelia of the Quarter is a perfect fit with SNA’s more whacked-out, sex-crazy funk stew.

Experience the band-buddy chemistry at the Boot Pub on Monday night.
