Whistler’s GIANT Used Book Sale is fast approaching.

Whether you’re restocking your horror fiction shelf for summer dock days or feeding the appetite of a young reader, the Whistler Public Library (WPL) has an event for you.

The Friends of the Library GIANT Used Book Sale takes place Friday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Library Plaza. Gently used adult and children’s books will be available by donation.

Proceeds support circular economics and raise funds for WPL programming.

The event is one of three annual fundraisers organized by Friends of the Library, a volunteer group of library enthusiasts. According to WPL’s 2023–24 annual report, proceeds from past sales have supported a wide range of programming, including summer reading clubs, meditation workshops and Singapalooza.

The group also lends a hand by maintaining the library’s plants and baking sweet treats for staff on special occasions.
